Videos Possibly Show Kirk Assassin on Rooftop
Chilling footage may have captured Charlie Kirk’s assassin dodging across a campus building moments after murdering the conservative icon Wednesday.
The clip was filmed from inside a Utah Valley University building behind the tent where Kirk was speaking, and captured the 3,000 people who turned out to his event dropping for cover after the assassin’s bullet was fired.
But above the crowd on a building across the quad, a small dark shape appeared to have just risen and begun moving across the roof.
Separate footage that appeared to be from the Utah Valley University campus and taken before the shooting showed a dark shape lying in a prone position on the rooftop where the gunman fired from — while people nearby wondered aloud what they were seeing.
“There’s somebody on the roof right there,” one person said. “He just ran from over there, ran in, now he’s right there.”
Moments later, Kirk was fatally shot while answering a question about mass shootings committed by transgender people in America.
Video captured by members of the audience closer to Kirk’s tent showed the famed conservative pundit slumping limp in his chair as blood spewed out of his neck. He fell to the ground and was quickly aided by his security team, who rushed him off campus.
He was pronounced dead by his team shortly after.
While the chaos was unfolding, emergency dispatchers were trying to pin down the possible suspect. So far, two people have been taken into custody, but they were both cleared and released by authorities.
“UVU reporting one individual that was shot, unknown where the shooter went, one dispatcher said in the audio clip obtained by TMZ.
“How many injured do we have?” a dispatcher asked.
“Just one person,” they replied.
The dispatchers described the suspect as a person wearing jeans, a black shirt, and a black vest — with no mentions of their estimated age or gender.
The person was reportedly armed with a long rifle and perched atop a building east of the school’s library.
Kirk, founder of conservative nonprofit Turning Point USA, was best known for his open mic “Prove Me Wrong” debates on college campuses where community members could challenge his views.
He was in the middle of one of those debates as part of The American Comeback Tour when he was killed.
Kirk leaves behind his wife, former Miss Arizona Erika Frantzve and two young children.
