Update: Giuliani to Remain in Hospital for 'Days'

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani will remain hospitalized for a few more days as he recovers from serious injuries incurred in a freak car accident in New Hampshire over the weekend, a spokesman told The Post.

Giuliani, 81, is improving and is expected to leave the hospital later this week, according to a statement on Monday.

He was the passenger in a rented Ford Bronco when the SUV was smashed from behind, leaving him with fractured vertebrae and multiple cuts and bruises to his left arm and lower leg, spokesman Michael Ragusa said Sunday.

The ex-mayor said he was flagged down by a woman who had been a victim of domestic violence. The car was pulled over and he “rendered assistance and dialed 911, remaining on the scene until officers arrived to ensure her safety,” Ragusa said.

After he re-entered his vehicle, which was being driven by longtime spokesman Ted Goodman, a Honda HR-V crashed into the rear of the Bronco at a high rate of speed, sending both cars careening into the median, police said.

The Honda was being driven by 19-year-old Lauren Kemp of Concord.

The crash sent Goodman, Conrad and Giuliani to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, cops said. No charges were filed in the incident.
