Trump Withdraws Endorsement for MTG
President Trump withdrew his “support and endorsement” of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene Friday, calling the Georgia Republican “wacky” and a “lunatic” amid her demands that the administration release documents related to convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
“I am withdrawing my support and Endorsement of ‘Congresswoman’ Marjorie Taylor Greene, of the Great State of Georgia,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
The president laid out a laundry list of his “Record Achievements for our Country,” but fumed that “over the past few weeks” Greene has only grumbled about his administration.
“[A]ll I see ‘Wacky’ Marjorie do is COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN!” Trump wrote.
Greene, who had previously been a staunch supporter of the president, has broken with Trump on several issues in recent weeks – including by voicing support for an extension of Affordable Care Act health insurance subsidies set to expire Dec. 31 and pushing for the Justice Department to release the so-called Epstein files.
Trump argued that Greene began to stray when he suggested that she shouldn’t seek higher office.
“It seemed to all begin when I sent her a Poll stating that she should not run for Senator, or Governor, she was at 12%, and didn’t have a chance (unless, of course, she had my Endorsement — which she wasn’t about to get!),” Trump wrote.
The president indicated that he has also grown tired of Greene’s constant pestering.
“She has told many people that she is upset that I don’t return her phone calls anymore, but with 219 Congressmen/women, 53 U.S. Senators, 24 Cabinet Members, almost 200 Countries, and an otherwise normal life to lead, I can’t take a ranting Lunatic’s call every day,” he continued.
Trump signaled that he’s hoping for a more loyal Republican to primary Greene ahead of the 2026 midterm election, and that he’d endorse that person.
“I understand that wonderful, Conservative people are thinking about primarying Marjorie in her District of Georgia, that they too are fed up with her and her antics and, if the right person runs, they will have my Complete and Unyielding Support,” he wrote, arguing that Greene “has gone Far Left, even doing The View, with their Low IQ Republican hating Anchors.”
“Thank you for your attention to this matter. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
Greene is one of only four House Republicans to sign onto a discharge petition led by Reps. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) and Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) that will force a vote on resolution demanding the Justice Department to release unclassified documents related to the Epstein case.
Trump has blasted the Epstein case as a Democrat-led “hoax,” but on Friday said he would ask the DOJ and FBI to investigate the disgraced financier’s “involvement and relationship with Bill Clinton, Larry Summers, Reid Hoffman, J.P. Morgan, Chase, and many other people and institutions, to determine what was going on with them, and him.”
Like a scorned flame, Greene responded to being dumped by Trump by releasing her private text messages with the president.
“President Trump just attacked me and lied about me,” she seethed on X. “I haven’t called him at all, but I did send these text messages today.”
The message to “DJT” show Greene demanding that the president “check the flight logs of Epstein’s plane,” alleging that former president Bill Clinton is on them “26 times! Hillary too!!”
The congresswoman explained that she wanted Trump administration to release the Epstein files “for the women who were victims” and to probe if “Democrat bad guys” were “entangled and involved” with Epstein.
“Epstein was the spider that wove the web of the deep state. Lean into it!” she implored.
In another text to “Natalie,” shared by Greene, the congresswoman raged that she’s long defended Trump and that the Epstein case is “not a hoax.”
On X, Greene wrote: “Apparently this is what sent him over the edge. The Epstein files.”
She accused Trump of making her “an example to scare all the other Republicans before next weeks vote” on the discharge petition.
“It’s astonishing really how hard he’s fighting to stop the Epstein files from coming out that he actually goes to this level,” Greene added.
“I have supported President Trump with too much of my precious time, too much of my own money, and fought harder for him even when almost all other Republicans turned their back and denounced him,” she continued. “But I don’t worship or serve Donald Trump.”
