Newsmax Staffer Killed by Her Own Son

A beloved tv make-up artist who worked with stars at the news outlet Newsmax has allegedly been shot dead by her son inside their home.

Tributes have poured in for Travis Renee Baldwin, 57, after she was identified as the victim of a shooting at an apartment complex on Sunday.

Her son Logan Chrisinger, 27, has been charged with her murder.

Chrisinger called his mom just hours before the shooting, and she rushed over to the apartment where he lived in Arlington, Virginia, in the early hours of Sunday morning, according to her brother John.

Baldwin, who was a former ESPN make-up artist, was reportedly tight-lipped about why she was going to see her son, John told the Fox affiliate WTTG-TV.

“She didn’t tell me why, but from what I understand, from what I could tell, I knew there was something going on,” he added.

Cops launched a homicide probe after Baldwin died.

She was taken to a hospital but died of her injuries.

Police have not yet revealed a motive.

Greta Van Susteren, a Newsmax host and former Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC star, has led the tributes to Baldwin.

In an X post, she recalled how she and Baldwin had been colleagues for three-and-a-half years at the evening Newsmax show The Record.

“She did my make up Friday for the show and of course I never dreamed that would be the last time I would see her,” Van Susteren said.

Marisela Ramirez, Newsmax’s White House producer, said Baldwin had a “giving heart.”

“Renee had a giving heart and a gypsy spirit but really she was a quiet warrior, supporting her family and carrying the weight of a household on her shoulders — without complaints, she posted on social media.

Former Newsmax staffer Amber Duke, now a senior editor at Daily Caller, was left shocked by Baldwin’s death.

Baldwin had done Duke’s makeup for around one-and-a-half years.

Tributes Pour In

“She was a kind, generous, funny woman who always brightened the day of anyone who sat in her chair,” Duke wrote on X.

“Fridays at Newsmax were something I looked forward to because I knew we’d get to gossip, talk about our upcoming travel plans, our pets, and any good wines we were drinking. She will be dearly missed.”

Duke shared a throwback photo of the pair pulling faces.

“She’d probably be so mad I’m sharing this photo. RIP Renee,” she said.

Virginia Allen, a news producer at Daily Signal, described Baldwin as someone who was “honest, loving and talented.”

“Newsmax will never feel the same without her,” she wrote on X.

Baldwin's family said she loved to work and travel.

Chrisinger has been charged with first-degree murder.

He has also been charged with aggravated malicious wounding and use of a firearm to commit a felony.

He is holed up at the Arlington County Detention Facility and is being held without bond.
