Kevin O'Connor, who previously served as former President Joe Biden's personal physician, has been scheduled to be deposed by the House Oversight Committee next month, Axios reported.

Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., the chair of the committee, launched an investigation into Biden following reports of his physical and mental decline in books like "Original Sin."

As part of his investigation, Comer is looking into whether there was any unauthorized issuance of sweeping pardons and other executive actions.

"The American people deserve full transparency, and the House Oversight Committee is conducting a thorough investigation to provide answers and accountability," Comer said.

"The cover-up of President Biden's mental decline is one of the greatest scandals in our nation's history."

O'Connor's closed-door deposition is set for July 9, according to Axios.

"The Committee seeks information to ensure accurate information was provided to the American people, and your health reports were not subject to any improper influence," Comer wrote in a letter to O'Connor.

Biden's physician said the former president was "a healthy, active, robust 81-year-old male, who remains fit to successfully execute the duties of the presidency."

As part of his investigation, Comer has also subpoenaed Michael Donilon, former senior adviser to the president; Anita Dunn, former senior adviser to the president for communications; Ronald Klain, former chief of staff; Bruce Reed, former deputy chief of staff for policy; and Steve Ricchetti, former counselor to the president.

"Original Sin" alleges five people were running the country, and at best, Biden was a "senior member of the board."
