X Users Report Multiple Outages Monday

Users of the Elon Musk-owned social media app X, formerly Twitter, reported multiple outages Monday morning.

According to outage tracking website Downdetector.com, there were more than 19,000 incidents of problems reported by X users in the U.S. just before 6 a.m. Monday, March 10.

After a brief period of no interruptions, incidents spiked to more than 41,000 around 10 a.m. EST.

After returning again for most users around 10:30 a.m., the app once again began sustaining outages with nearly 29.000 users reporting issues by 11:51 a.m.

As of 12:30 p.m., there were still nearly 25,000 reported incidents, according to Downdetector.

As of 11:25 a.m., there have been no responses on the outages from Musk or representatives from X.

The cause of the outages remain unknown.

The last big X outage happened in August 2024, when 66% of users reported experiencing problems with the app, website and server connection, according to a report by Variety.

Musk purchased Twitter for $44 billion on Oct. 28, 2022 after he began acquisition of the company on April 14, 2022.

He rebranded Twitter to "X" on July 23, 2023, replacing the blue bird logo with an "X."
