Kash Patel Home Swatted

Kash Patel Home Swatted

FBI Director Kash Patel told Joe Rogan on Friday that his house had been "swatted."

"As director of the FBI I have a responsibility, I'm not just gonna bring a case because somebody hurt me.... Sh*t. My house just got swatted yesterday," Kash said during an appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast.

Swatting is the criminal practice of calling law enforcement, particularly Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team, to someone's house in order to harass or intimidate them.

In March, Patel warned about an "alarming rise" in the number of high-profile individuals and "media figures" who were being swatted.

"The FBI is aware of this dangerous trend, and my team and I are already taking action to investigate and hold those responsible accountable," he wrote in a post on X, formerly Twitter.

Other high-profile conservatives who say they have been targeted this year include Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Joe Pagliarulo of The Joe Pags Show and Shawn Farash of UNGOVERNED.

Local news in Las Vegas reported that a swatting call was reported at Patel's home on Tuesday morning at about 11:15 a.m.

Police were able to speak to a resident at the home and determine it was a fake call before any officers were dispatched.

During his appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience, which aired on Friday, Patel described being swatted by a stunned Rogan.

"What?...You got swatted?" an incredulous Rogan asked, "The head of the FBI gets swatted?"

"Yeah. Yeah," Patel replied. "These people play, it's the ultimate height of hypocrisy, they have two sets of rules—one against you and one for them."

Swatting is not only dangerous for the victims, who can be accidentally killed or injured during the armed law enforcement raid, but it also ties up SWAT teams and law enforcement who are then unavailable for real emergencies.

Patel said in March, about the rise in swatting of media figures, "This isn't about politics—weaponizing law enforcement against ANY American is not only morally reprehensible but also endangers lives, including those of our officers. That will not be tolerated. We are fully committed to working with local law enforcement to crack down on these crimes."

The FBI said in an advisory: "Swatting is the malicious tactic of making hoax calls or reports to emergency services, typically feigning an immediate threat to life. Swatting is intended to draw a large response from SWAT teams or other law enforcement resources to an unsuspecting victim's location, causing chaos and the potential for injury or violence."

Joe Pagliarulo, speaking on his radio show: "If I would have grabbed my AR-15 and walked out the front door, or my pistol and walked out the front door, I would have been dead in my doorway. Had I taken any other action, I might have been killed in my house that night. And you start to think maybe that's the tactic."

Patel has not yet announced a formal FBI investigation into his swatting attack, but he has previously vowed to investigate the trend of conservative figures who claim they have been swatted.
