Andrew Tate Under Federal Criminal Investigation in US
Andrew and Tristan Tate — both accused of sex trafficking overseas — are under probe by the Manhattan US Attorney’s Office, a new civil court filing alleged Friday.
A lawyer representing an unidentified woman and three others being sued by the controversial Tate brothers for defamation made the claim in a bid to keep certain information confidential in the con Florida court case, according to the legal docs.
Attorney Danielle Pinter argued in the motion that a document should remain under wraps “until the United States federal investigation and/or prosecution by the Department of Justice for the Southern District of New York of Andrew and Tristan Tate has concluded.”
The document she wants sealed for now is tied to the alleged probe and was introduced by the defendants, according to the new filing.
Joseph McBride, a lawyer for Tate, slammed the claim as “pathetic delay tactics by a group of weak lawyers running from a fight in the Florida defamation case, because they know the evidence is overwhelmingly on our side.
“We are not worried,” McBride added.
NBC News national law enforcement and intelligence correspondent Tom Winter tweeted that the federal prosecutor’s office declined to comment.
More information about the possible criminal probe was not revealed in the court document filed in Palm Beach County’s civil division Friday.
If an investigation by the feds is ongoing, it spells further legal trouble for the Tate brothers across two continents.
Andrew, 38, a self-proclaimed misogynist and social media influencer, and his younger brother Tristan, 36, are facing charges of human trafficking and forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit women in Romania.
The pair, arrested in 2022 and indicted last year, were forced to remain in the country until the travel ban was lifted in February — though the two still need to come back for check-ins with authorities.
The Tate brothers deny all charges.
Andrew Tate, a former pro kickboxer, was also sued for sexual assault and battery by former girlfriend, model Bri Stern, after an alleged violent sexual encounter in Beverly Hills last month. He also denies any wrongdoing in that civil case.
The defamation lawsuit in Florida was first filed by the Tate brothers in July 2023 against a woman who accused them of imprisoning her in Romania.
